Picture shows The Club President, Fred Burch, presenting a letter from The British Heart Foundation and a certificate from the club in thanks for John Roes’ prompt action in giving CPR to Martyn Ellis when he had a heart attack at the club.

John quickly assessed the gravity of the situation and delivered CPR until The Paramedics arrived. They confirmed that without Johns’ prompt action Martyn may not have survived.

Marie Curie Donation

Plymstock Bowling Club helped celebrate Helen Street’s 50th birthday . The evening was organised by Helen, her dad Jim and sisters Debora and Liz. Helen didn’t want presents, but asked that any money raised should go to the Marie Curie Charity.

Friends and family came from as far afield as Newcastle and Essex and were supported in the celebrations by Bowling Club members.

Helen raised a total of £800.00 which she presented, in the form of a huge cheque, to one of Marie Curie’s Plymouth representatives during the bowling club’s Trelawney Night social evening.
