Short Mat Bowls
We play short mat bowls in the winter months with two divisions in the day and two divisions in the evening. Knockout competitions are held throughout the shortmat season with all the winners of the leagues and competitions being presented with their trophies on the evening of the outdoor opening day.
Short Mat Charity Day £370 was raised for the British Heart Foundation which was the charity selected by members. The money was raised not only by the 40 bowlers but donations from other club members and also from the Christmas card appeal. In what was a competitive but fun day, teams led by John Hornsby and Margaret Blampey competed in the final which was supported by an enthusiastic audience. The draw was organised by Vic Ladlow and Val Scott and all 40 prizes were donated by members.
